Over 300 acres of prime whitetail hunting in Unit 15!!!

This property is made up of 2 quarter sections about a half mile apart from each other. The first quarter to the east has excellent grass on it. Cattle do graze the property but definitely don't over graze. The grass was in excellent shape. I jumped numerous does with their fawns that were using the grass for bedding. The property is made up of a very nice drainage that runs through the west side. There are many smaller drainages that run into it and plenty of trees for hanging stands. There are plum thickets scattered throughout the property. Big thickets with thousands of sand hill plums as you can see in the pictures below. A great food source for the deer. The deer were also bedding right in the middle of these thickets. The quail were also using them. The bobwhites were singing throughout the entire property!! There is a 2-3 acre pond in the middle of the property. Great water source for all wildlife. There is an old duck blind that could be used for some waterfowl hunting or for doves. There were hundreds of doves flying around the pond. The family does reserve the right to use the pond for fishing from the first of March until the end of September.

The west quarter is a deer haven!! I jumped deer all over the property. The draw that comes in from the east has some great mature trees and is great vantage point to see the entire lower field and pasture. The ag fields that surround it are sitting fallow right now. The deer are still using them to feed bed in. The highlight of this quarter is the 65 acre pasture that sits on the west side of the property. This pasture is very overgrown and has an abundance of cover. There are many mature trees for stands and you can get lost in this pasture!!! There is a dry creek that runs through the middle of it but it had quite a bit of water in the middle of July. I jumped deer all over this pasture. There were also quail in abundance here also. The stand set ups are endless. A well placed feeder could be a gold mine!! There is a cattle lease on this quarter but there are no cattle on it at this time. The tenant farmer is willing to work with hunters if he needs to use the quarter for cattle. During the season he can have them on the crop fields and out of the pasture, if they are even there at all.

There is 5 acres in the front of this property that is not part of the lease. A hunting lodge is there, Potter Creek Lodge. This lodge can be looked up on the internet and possibly rented for the time that you would be hunting!! The lodge is used mostly to house waterfowl and upland game hunters. The lodge will not interfere with your hunting on the property.

ATV's allowed for hunting purposes only, no trail riding, and avoid damaging the fence on the property. Respect to crops and crop ground is a must!
