Some areas of the CRP had removal of trees, and this debris was burnt in late summer this year in order to stay in compliance with CRP program. These areas will be reseeded this fall. CRP program enrollment through 2040. CRP includes Filter Strip and Wetland Restoration practices, which are designed to improve water quality and support wildlife habitat. This area sometimes experiences flooding- although currently dry. No waterfowl were observed. Good pheasant habitat.
Lease borders Salt Creek on west, crops to the east, and heavily timbered area to the south.
